Recap: Celine, Spring 2010

Is it still Spring yet?

In the flurry of fashion seasons, it all seem to blur season to season. I was writing an article the other day and my lovely editor wrote me as an afterthought, ‘Hey Stephie, I don’t think it’s Spring anymore.’

In our land of no seasons and constant wet or hot days, these days even the weather has decided to merge. In one day we get thoroughly Hot 22 hours and 2 hours of constant downpour. Yup, that’s Singapore for you.

I am still in very much of a Spring mood currently as I’m still having a lot of fun poking around the Spring 2010 collections on Style.com, here’s the first of my favourites from the season: Celine’s Spring 2010 with Phoebe Philo’s creations for the fashion house.

I must have written something for this when it first came out, but I cannot help but revisit and marvel at this collection’s modern and sophisticated look.

If we had eliminated men and the need to seduce men in the world, if we were just to dress amongst a full population of women, I can tell you that a lot of women will be wanting to look like this every single day. Fierce, modern, independent. It’s a look which women want to emulate.

Okay, maybe not the clogs bit. But definitely the silhouette.

We’ll be covering Fall trends in just a bit, amidst the work tornado that we’re trying to tame right now.

Stephie, x.
